Welcome to our final venue tour. Phew, we finally made it!
Haven Street Ballroom is located on 1 Haven St. Baltimore, MD. On our drive over to Haven Street Ballroom, we noticed it is tucked away between two warehouse buildings and the drive to the venue is a little sketchy.
However; you know the saying don't judge a book by its cover. That saying completely applies to Haven Street Ballroom. As we turned into the gated parking lot we found there was Monument Brewing Company and Urban Axes right by it. The building was still in its construction stage so when we stopped by it was completely a shell inside.
We met with Kate Ansari she is the owner and venue manager of Haven Street Ballroom and Main Street Ballroom located in Ellicott City, MD. Being in the industry I had met with Kate when she first opened Main Street Ballroom and I loved the way she managed that venue. So I knew that Haven Street Ballroom would be just as wonderful.
We chatted with Kate for a couple minutes about her plans for Haven Street Ballroom. Her thoughts about an all-white interior really excited me. You're probably wondering why I would love an all-white room. Well, let's put it this way. When you design a wedding you have to take into account the entire room that includes the walls, floor, and ceiling. Most of the time you are fighting with a hideous red carpet with gold swirls (sorry hotel banquet rooms) or something that completely clashes with your entire look. White is a dream come true!
She also had the same plan as Main Street Ballroom to offer 16-hour rental. That alone was a selling point. 16 hours is unheard of! With free parking, any caterer, any vendor, bridal suite, tables and chairs, and a venue large enough to fit 200 people. We were pretty much sold.
We left with a very important decision. Which venue would make more sense for us to say yes to?
Next week we will show you how to weigh your options and make the choice that is right for the two of you.
